How to get more Google reviews for your café

When someone searches "café near me", your stars and the number of reviews decide whether they walk in. Here's how to grow both, honestly.

1. Ask, at the right moment

Most happy guests never think of reviewing. The best time to ask is when they're paying or when the food has just landed and they're smiling. A simple "If you liked it, a Google review really helps us" works better than any poster.

2. Make it one tap

Every extra step loses people. Get your review link from your Google Business Profile ("Ask for reviews") and put it where guests already look:

  • A QR code on the table or the counter (make one with our free table QR card maker)
  • A QR code printed on the bill
  • The link in the WhatsApp bill message

3. Ask everyone, not just the happy ones

Google's rules say you shouldn't pick and choose who you ask, and you mustn't offer discounts or freebies in exchange for reviews. Fake or paid reviews can get removed, and your listing can be penalised. Ask every guest the same way.

4. Reply to every review

Thank people by name for good reviews. For bad ones, reply calmly, say what you'll fix, and invite them back. New customers read your replies as much as the reviews.

5. Fix what reviews keep mentioning

If three reviews say "slow on weekends", that's free advice. Fix it and say so in your replies. Your rating rises on its own.

Keep your Google Business Profile up to date: correct hours, phone, menu photos and a few fresh photos every month. A complete profile gets more views, and more views bring more reviews.

Rasoi puts the review link on every bill.

Your Google review QR prints on every bill, and the bill on WhatsApp carries the link. After a table-QR order, guests can rate the meal from their phone.
